This has been happening since we had a really
windy day, it was warm but too much dust flying
around to have the windows open, so I had the AC
on.
Had it going on about a three to the feet and front
blowers. Wind picked up suddenly and I lost air
blowing completely. Parked it and went to make
some calls to see what’s up.
Let my room mate borrow the car to do an errand,
got it back and tried them again. It started. Seems
weaker.
Had it today, which it’s been a few weeks since that
happened. Wasn’t too windy but hit a few bumps
since the road has humps all along the street. It
died again. I turned it off completely and drove for
awhile, tried it again before I got home and it
popped on again.
Don’t have a diagnositic tool to help me or else I
could try it and look it up. Seeing what’s usually the
problem or what steps I should do to fix.

Check the evaporator blower fan. Also be sure to clean your cabin air filter. Since it was windy and dusty that day, the air filter could be dirty and clogged blocking airflow which could cause your evaporator to build up ice only allowing it to come back on when it has defrosted and the pressure switch resets. Alot of the time it could be the most simple thing that causes a system to stop working.

I’ll that that out. Should I get another filter ready since it’s probbaly plugged?

Yeah replace it and see if that helps. Let me know if tht fixes the problem

No that didn’t work. Sounded good when I started up. Turned it to 4 to see what happens. It kind of slowly dies.

So if youre getting air blowing out is it cold? Then after a few moments it just stops blowing air?

It could be a few different things. But I would suggest checking out the radiator fans. The fans for the radiator also cool off the a/c condenser coil. Check the wires for the fans and be sure they have a good connection, they may need to be cleaned, since it was windy and dusty when the problem started. After that, check the connections that run from the ecu to the fan and from the ecu to the pressure switch. If the connection is bad that could explain why it would cut on when you hit a bump. And if these components wires dont have good connection then the a/c will be able to run for a short time until a safety switch trips and shuts off the system. If the fan doesnt operate properly then it cant cool the condenser which would cause the refrigerant to build up pressure and the pressure switch would shut off the a/c.

And check out the condenser to see if it is dirty, the metal fins could be clogged with dust blocking airflow and the condenser wont be able to cool down. If thats the case it would be easy to fix either by spraying it off with your garden hose or going to an auto parts store and buying radiator coil cleaner and a coil cleaning brush. You can look up a 'how to' video on youtube to see how to properly clean it.
