Sure, there is a way, let's begin with how many miles are on it? Instead of waiting for you, i will just go with 150,000...in 14 years that would not be unreasonable to have about that. You may be loosing compression, the piston rings begin to wear and not seal the combustion chamber on the compression stroke. Valves not seating also. That is normal. I don't know if it has OBD or OBDII but having the codes read might tell you something..a plain old tune up, spark plugs, air filter. But please, I realize you asked hours ago and may not see this for a while, let me (us) know mileage, and does it smoke from tailpipe, and if so what color?
