No there is a chip in the key and another in the truck and they have to talk so it can run. If you dont have a programmed spare key you have to get a key programmed by a dealer.

driving is an expensive undertaking. you got a new ignition and whole steering column? What were you trying to fix that you bought those items? Youre in WAY over your head. Taking shots in the dark and missing. Expensive shots. Now its still broke and youre out of bullets. Ouchie.

For 1 Guru B6 if thats the input you got I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if you would just keep your opinions to yourself cuz what you have offered here is worthless people here all looking for answers not smart ass dick heads for the guy with the Durango call the dealer give the VIN number ask for the security chip ID or key number Chevrolet is 1 through 15 on key codes I'm not a big dodge guy I don't know how there's are but I'm sure it something similar and any good locksmith can code the key and cut it and try not to be discouraged by people like Guru they don't know nothing anyway except how to run their mouth about shit they don't know nothing about
