From what i have seen replacing the battery shouldn't cause this. I would check your battery connections make sure they are tight, clean and not covered in corrosion then check for codes in the computer if none then spark, fuel, make sure the air isn't obstructed and if worst comes to worst check engine compression. It could just be a coincidence that it happened after you replaced the battery.
99 durango slt 5.2£ stalled out and wouldn't start again. ✔ battery, fuel pump, plugs, all good but still it won't fire up. Sometimes it acts like it's going yy5555544 catch but doesn't complete

This is most likely a tiny crack in the computer board in the main onboard computer. I think they call it the ECM. From '98 to '02 the computer boards in the Durangos and related vehicles were prone to cracks. The cracks open when the board heats up which causes an open circuit. Everything turns off, engine, power steering, you have 2 pumps left on the brakes. The engine will crank but won't start. The gauges stay off. You let it sit for a few minutes to a couple of hours, turn the key to on and the gauges come on like normal and the Durango will start like nothing ever happened. No error codes to indicate a problem. There are no after market replacements for the computer boards. You have to buy one that is rebuilt. It is a condition that can kill you.
