Parking break engaged

My praking break engaged message keeps popping up
when i start my car but i never engaged my parking
break what do i do

Have you tried applying the brake; then releasing it? Make sure the pedal return all the way to the top.

My friends told me to unplug my battery and plug it back in the parking break is not engaged at all its very cold in ontario and im pretty sure thats why it didnt start till 2am last night
