Car Stalls , no check light
My 1999 Intrepid 3.2L started to idle a little rough,
and have the occasional "hiccup" while stopped at
an intersection. I changed the spark plugs, then
the performance got worse ... it just didnt seem to
have the same power. I thought maybe my fuel
injectors were dirty so I added a fuel injector
cleaner. 2 days later while driving, my engine
stalled. All eletrical things like the radio and lights
still worked, nothing to indicate a bad alternator. It
started right up again, but only made it another
block before it died again, this time it took about
10 to 15 minutes before it started again. When I
tried to restart it, I got nothing, not even a click. I
was an hr from home, so I opted to have it towed
home For safety reasons.
I spoke to a couple of car guys, and they agreed,
sounded like it could be my fuel pressure regulator,
pump or filter. That was all replaced a couple of
days ago. Yesterday on my way home from work,
it stalled again, but started right back up. After
much thought, i took another look at the spark
plugs, discovered AutoZone gave me the wrong
spark plugs. Installed the correct ones last night.
It seemed to have better power like before all this
started, more get up and go...then It stalled again
this morning. Didn't want to start for a couple of
minutes, but it tried to turn over.
Back ground.... about a year or two ago, I replaced
the Cam Sensor and Crank Sensor. The water
pump and timing belt were replaced about a year
ago. And if I'm not mistaken, the 02 Sensors were
already replaced as well About a year or more ago.
Trying to do research online myself. And possible
causes I have found are: EGR Valve, MAF Sensor,
CPS, Crank/Cam Sensors......
Any ideas what ills my car??
