Gonna say that your internal amp blew. Did you recently change out the battery or disconnect it for any reason? I know on some vehicles it locks out the stereo and you have to input a code for it to work again. It's a pain in the neck safety feature to make the stereo useless if stolen. Check you owners manual if you did disconnect power.

There should be a small pin hole near the CD player, you can take a small pin or paperclip put it in the hole push for a few seconds and it should reset the system. This appears to be a common problem for that radio. Here is a link to the Tucson forum: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/yf-2011-sonata-i45/138170-stereo-turns-but-no-audio.html

Thank you! I also followed your suggestion, and it worked on my 2012 Tucson. I was devastated when I suddenly didn't have any sound the other day, and I thought I would have to spend a lot of money to get it fixed. You saved me a lot of time and trouble! I'm glad I looked online first.

On the Tucson w/nav system, the reset is down near the "Phone" button. Actually, it's not a small hole; it's a small recessed button. Just a tip here though. If your radio is working but no sound, copy down all your station settings because resetting will erase your stations.... just saying.

apparently the radio has issues. reset by factory, other "fix" via battery/some other connection thing, and manual button hole reset--nothing works! $800 to replace amp! what!? (have nav, back-up camera, bluetooth, etc) UGH! HELP

Thanks a lot. Pushing the pin reset fixed it for me on my 2011 Tucson w/nav system. I have had the no sound before however that time it was fixed after I turned the ignition off and on again. That method did not work this time.

My 2011 Tucson w/Nav is also inaudible! I checked the fuses and they test as working. I pushed the reset button and it didn't work for me! Any other suggestions? Carol

Hi, Carol, I discovered that you have to push and hold the reset button until the radio turns off. The reset is located just below the button for the phone. My radio came back on instantly after. Hope this helps.

After calling the dealership and getting a "ball-park" figure of $700 - $800 to replace the radio, I logged onto this site and lo and behold, Michael - your simple solution was absolutely brilliant. I can't tell you how pleased my wife was since it is basically her car. And...to save the "ball-park" figure is an added bonus. You Da Man!

January 5, 2019 Although I am happening upon this forum years after the original post, I am so grateful to God for directing my action this way. My radio stopped working after I went to the car wash where the employees turned my volume up, turned my heat up and just altered things while "wiping" the inside of the car...supposedly. Anyway, I was riding around without sound for about 2 weeks, took my car to a mechanic who directed my to go to the dealership. Came home frustrated and began to inquire online. Praise God, I happened upon this forum and the reset button worked. I am so relieved. Thank you so much Michael !!!

I took my 2011 Tuscon to an auto audio shop and they said the amp is blown. The problem is that the radio (which works fine) is connected to the amp so if you have to replace one...you have to replace both! I have navigation and blue tooth so the radio alone is pricey. Minimum for both is $1,300. Dealership was minimum of $3,600! I love my music in the car but neither amount trips my trigger! I'll try the pin hole reset thing to see, if by divine intervention, it works!

The paper clip worked for me !!! 2013 Hyundai Tuscon, It came right back on !!! Thanks for the info.

I have a 2017 Tucson. This problem has gone on, for 3 years. Regardless of any reset, it will still happen, over and over. You either have volume, when you start the car, or you don't. It happens occasionally, with no reason. New amp, new speaker, 2 battery resets, reset fuse, Manager even drove my car, for a week.. Nothing stops it, from happening again. The lane change indicator sound goes off, as well. So, it's not a radio problem. It's a sound problem!!

Same issue with my 2011Tuscan 2 days ago. It's all working properly except for the sound. I've done the reset button numerous time, and the battery hard reset. Nothing worked. I most definitely do not have $800 for a new amp. Does anybody have ANY other possible solutions I can try? I would truly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

I have a Hyundai ix35 and still can’t figure out how to fix it. Been over a month without music. I have changed the fuses, had an update, disconnected the battery. I also put a pin in the small hole next the eject button which I don’t think is a button. I have also tried holding down several buttons. What have I missed?

Apparently Hyundai has a systematic Audio Problem across the years of fleet vehicles and they are not willing to address. I have written their Cooperate Office, to now avail and have been directed to local dealers, Twice. Hyundai USA does not have nor care about costumer service, I have tried all of the online recommendations, Non-Work, tried the 15min negative battery thing 5 times, replaced all associated fuses, reset twice. I'm about to take the radiator cap off and go to a GMC/Chevy Dealer and find a vehicle that's fits the cap.

I have try the reset before and it works just like always. But this time i did it 5 times whit out of good results. So I disconnect for 15minutes the negative pole from the battery ( note keep your keyless remote handy because the alarm will activated when you connect back the battery) so none of that work .. What i did next is find the amplifier then disconnected while the radio was off and connected back when I turn the radio on .. Good luck guys !
