Key won't turn off the alarm

Asked by Gregs98 Jan 09, 2012 at 08:49 PM about the 1998 Dodge Avenger ES FWD

Question type: General

The drivers side door handle on my 1998 avenger es was replaced by previous owner. But
for some reason if you unlock that door with the key it sets off the alarm. So to get in the car
I have to unlock the pass side door.  Really annoying. Please help.

Sounds like the wires on the back of the key lock are backwards. Take the door panel off and reverse the wires. Good luck.

eather the handle is not a 98 or the wire is not hooked up,is a tight place to hook to,or you can just pull the fuse to alarm.
