Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 98 caravan. Seems after
driving for 15-20 minutes dash
panel stops working. After i park
and shut off van it wont restart till
it has time to cool down. Battery
is good and i tool positive terminal
off and car keeps running. Why
wont it restart till it cools down for
3 hours or more? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Check battery voltage, it should be minimum 12.4. Check the battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If cables are ok, check voltage signal at the starter solenoid as you try to start it, you might have a bad starter. Taking the positive cable off while it's running will not shut off the car since the alternator change keeps it running.
