2014 3.7 liter swap

Asked by Nester1955 Jul 09, 2019 at 08:05 AM about the 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have an early 1965 Mustang with a 200 cid engine with auto trans.  I am installing a 3.7 liter engine and auto from a 2014 Mustang.  I have not found a set of motor and transmission mounts for this set up yet.  I would like to know if you know of anything that may work for this build?

I think you will have to fabricate all the mounts and have a custom exhaust built along with a lot of other things. Why not go with a period correct 289 instead?

thank you for the answer. I have done a lot custom building on this car and do not like to follow the crowd on the build. I have read that the location of the mounts for the 3.7 are the same as the 5.0. I also believe the 200 and 289 mount in the same location on the 65. If this is true, I'll just either modify or fab complete a set. Thank you...

The locations might be the same but the mounts are probably different. This is a 100% custom job. good luck.
