The Air-Con cannot be turned off upon first cold start even you press to switch off

Asked by EVO9GT Sep 11, 2016 at 04:30 PM about the 2013 BMW 5 Series 528i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The air-con is switched on itself upon first cold start. It cannot be turned off even you want to do so except you also turn off the fan. It would be normal again when the car is driven more than half of an hour that the car is fully in normal operative temperature.

there is a thing called the "final stage unit" that controls air flow in the heat/ac system. i just changed mine. very common issue. total pain to reach it. cheap part, mine kept on fan even if car was off, drained the battery. youtube can show you the way. part is like $40
