why does the light on my radio go out when I turn on the headlights and what do I do about it

Check you dimmer switch, to see that you don't have it dimmed to nothing. Those lights are normally on in daytime and not adjustable, but with lights on they can be dimmed. Turn the trip odometer button but don't push it in.

Checked all that it is on at night with the lights on but u can barely see it.

Ok...then maybe the dimmer is bad. It's just a rheostat or potentiometer, not sure which but they are almost the same thing anyway. But a 2013 is far too soon to have it worn out.... has the car been exposed to excessive moisture in the cabin?
