ac switch broken

Asked by Lagringa Apr 07, 2007 at 02:28 PM about the 1998 Dodge Stratus Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The ac button broke, wont stay in on first or second attempt at about 39000 miles.  so I keep the switch in the on position all summer long in fear it wont hold the next time. (I live in Phoenix AZ  HOT HOT) Now the switch changes itself from the frontal vents to the defroster vents on its own.  Is this a common problem with this year car?

It is not a common problem, but get the switch replaced. If it shorts out, you could get expensive electrical problems. The dealer will most likey have to do this, unless you know a really good mechanic
