Does anyone else drive your car? The only time I had that issue was when I got mad, I punched the horn. It stuck on and I had to tear it apart because I dented the contacts inside under the horn. That would cause it to have a hair trigger so to speak.
There's a ring inside of the steering wheel that making contact with the horn mechanism. IE shorting out. Take it to a qualified repair shop coz to fix it the steering wheel wheel has to be removed and that includes the air bag. You don't need that to go BANG in your face!!!
no one else drives it. do you think it would be expensive to fix?
If you have to cut steering wheel cover to remove air bag it will be expensive to fix..........
There is a rubber washers that fall apart and those gorunding the honk pad and it starts blowing continiously. Take off negative terminal under the hood. Then unscrew Airbag holding screws on the back of steering wheel, carefully pull out the airbag, and gently unplug its connector. Then unscrew 4 screws that holds 2 honk pads, but be carefull and don't lose plastic washers and springs under that pads. On that screws you'll find remainigs of rubber isolating washers that needs to be replaced. I found some 3/8" rubber gaskets that fits snugly (see photo attached). Then reassemble all back and it's done.
