How to get to the battery in a 2013 BMW 740i?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I cannot figure out how to get to the battery in the trunk of my 2013 BMW
740i.  When I remove the plastic top of the compartment on the passenger
side in the trunk, there is a storage "box" that the battery is under that I
cannot easily remove, without feeling like i am going to damage the pieces.
There must be a trick to it.  Additionally, I am doing this because I am trying
to jump start my car and the + terminal and ground method under the hood
is not working?

make sure you are not attaching the ground clamp to a painted surface. just a suggestion; I don't know your mechanical inclination.
