DROVE FINE 1 DAY AND PARKED THE CAR AND CAME BACK IN 4  HOURS AFTER THAT CAR WOULDENT MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS ACTED LIKE IT WAS  STUCK IN GEAR TRYED TO TOW IT AND BOTH WHEELS WOULDNT MOVE AT ALL STILL ACTED LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN GEAR . BUT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD MOVE FROM PARK TO LOW . HEARS THE FUNNY PART JACKED UP DRIVERS SIDE THE WHEEL  TURNS BY HAND NORMAL TRY THE PASSEINGDER  SIDE IT WONT TURN AT AT START THE ENGINE  RUN IT THREW THE GEARS WONT MOVE BUT PUT IT IN REVERSE THE WHEEL TURN FOR A FEW SEC'S THEN QUIT . HAS ANY BODY EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM  OR IS THE TRANY TRASHED  HELP ANY INFO ,

the trannys on the avenger gets trashed pretty easily. the avenger has an open diff so the driver side wheel pushed the car forward and the passenger side wheel pushes the car backwards. the transmission is an A406. if you end up replacing the transmission any of these cars have the same one: 95-00 Dodge avenger (I4 or V6) 95-00 Chrysler Sebring Coupe (I4 or V6) 95-99 Eagle Talon (non turbo only) 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse (non turbo only) with these trans it's sometimes just cheaper to replace.
