Clean it MAF for a start.....
Mass Air Flow Sensor. Do you still have warranty on the car ? and what size engine do you have ?

I fixed this problem like last week I've been battling for about a few years already on and off. It's the crankshaft sensor. But these jettas have a really bad wrap from the 200-2003 models. Replace both the crankshaft sensor and fuel pump and if you can alternator. You will not have problem again unless your jetta is a lemon

I just answered it replace the sensors I told you to. It's a cheap start and that was my fix

I have a Jetta 2004 2.0 and while driving it shuts off mostly on the highway and it can happen a couple of times during the day I replaced the camshaft position sensor a couple of months ago, can anyone tell me what’s wrong pls ?
