Differential "housing" came out with drain plug

The dealer says that while removing the drain plug, the entire "housing"(my
term) came out. They tried to re-drill with no luck, not want me to buy an entire
new differential for $4K. Since they have always done this work they are sure
they did not overtighten the plug last time. Has anyone heard of this.

Nice. I would blame them. If they have to pay they will suddenly come up with a much less expensive repair such as welding.
