there are 3 things that i can think of that would cause a high idle that are easy to spot... the first being a vacuum leak when you start the car listen under the hood for a hissing noise if their is no hissing then it's prolly not that. the second check the throttle body for obstructions make sure the butterfly valve is closing all the way if not try to adjust the idle screw. the third check around the intake manifold and make sure it's in good condition
check for vacuum leaks at the intake manifold. Did you change the manifold gaskets when you replaced the head? Dont ever touch the idle screw youll fuck up the throttle body. My 96 neon had the same problem and it was the intake gasket.
(NEVER MESS WITH THE FACTORY CALIBRATED IDLE SCREW) iT IS AN IMPOSSIBLLY HARD TO FIND REPLACEMENT THROTTLE BODY try your idle control stepper motor you will see it on the side of the throttle body get new gaskets when replacing
when replacing(I.A.C.) it will rev up when started with new idle air control stepper motor this will be when it recalibrates for the new part

how long does it take to reclibrate--we replaced our IAC and it is still idling fast
I have a 02 dodge neon what makes my throttle body clasp.
