Wen you retard timing it richens the mixturd because of the exact time of your burn thats why we advance it we are trying to burn everything in the cylinder before we open the exaust valve in this manner controlling hydrocarbons but it gets burn tempratures up the sooner we fire thd mixturd then wen we get combustion teml up too high wd creat NOX ghe 5th gas we loom for so we use EGR TO COOL THE COMBUSTION CHAMBERS THATS WHH IF YOJ DONT UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY HOW THE EMISSIoN SYSTEM WORKS you should not disable any of it which its all political anywsy because if we ran everything on pure 100 % alcohol we wouldnt need an emission system cause the alcohol burns clean our engines would be clean as would our air and water and a bunch of oil men and polititions would go broke but we would be able to breathe
