my car headlights won't stay on, what can i do?

I should check the date on your battery, more than seven is not good...corrosion will build up...train a hose on your battery to blast these nasty corrosive things away. If battery is fresh and connections look good would chase the black wire to where it attaches to the chassis, clean a spot where the 300 Cold Cranking Amps can get though, and to the engine block as 300 needs to get through there. On the positive terminal there is a little loop connector like a lollipop, didassemble this and get it corrosion free, all connections good, battery fresh....we will investigate the "tripping breaker", but I think a bad ground is causing this condition.~

Do the headlights blink on and off? Some headlights have a circuit breaker that resets when it cools.
