I am putting a new muffler on a 96 Dodge Dakota but there is a sensor Right about to the old muffler at the inlet does this sensor need to be there? Or can I cut it out so I can get a ext.pipe on

Thanks Tom , I will keep it. I found an extension pipe that is notched to go around. Thanks again for the advice
