Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was told that the rack and pin was leaking and I have no idea what that is and how major it is.

The rack and pinion is associated with your vehicles steering. If it's leaking you more than likely need to replace. If left unchecked, you could have faulty steering issues while driving when you least expect it. This is a serious safety issue!
