You can try your local salvage yard or carpart.com for a good used engine. Make sure you hear it run before you buy though. Ask about a warranty too. Some salvage yards will give a 30 day guarantee with a larger purchase, such as an engine. Hope that helps! Jim
Man, that was my first car I bought when I was in 11th grade! Back in 1998! Paid $1200 A red hatchback ! That little car kept on thru a few 12hr road trips, then after I graduated I drove it from n.m. to vegas where I moved & she lasted another year or so...passed smog, & I even got hit by a deer when I was driving & only damage to it was a little chunk of deer hair stuck on the gas tank lock to prove it! Haha. Seriously a deer rammed me & ran off! She was a good car to me! Never left me stranded. I know this isn't helping your problem, I just had to share my experience cuz you never see them around anymore. Good luck to you
ive been working on my own vehicles for a while and rebuilt a couple motors, more so looking to give engine swapping a try, what im really trying to ask is what engines and transmissions, (plus whatever ecu i need) would "bolt right up"?
would any engine/transmission config from the 3rd gen work?
