Truck won't Start

Asked by James Apr 20, 2015 at 03:44 PM about the 1986 Toyota Pickup 2 Dr STD 4WD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok Replaced the ignition coil, distributor cap, and plugs, wires but my engine will not start.
It has a new starter in it and was running fine then just died.  I had been running it most of
the day on errands. 1986 22R Toyota. Don't know what else it could possible be.

Sounds like the fuel pump just went. Put a screw drive to the bottom of the tank and put your ear on the plastic handle. Have someone turn the key to accessory. Can you hear the pump hum? If not, it's the fuel pump. Check your fuel pump relay also.
