1986 Ford Bronco won't start unless I depress the gas pedal and then dies

Asked by Kellydean Feb 26, 2017 at 05:22 PM about the 1986 Ford Bronco XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 86 Full size Bronco has a 5.7l efi engine
and it was running fine and then it started
slowing down running rough and
eventually died. I've recently changed the
fuel filters the secondary fuel pump and the
primary fuel pump was checked recently. I
cleaned the sensors and it ran fine prior
without vacuum hooked to my egr valve.
Now it only fires when I depress the gas
pedal and dies immediately. Please help!!

Just use a scanner to read and detect what Sensor or fuel system is wrong...the Scanner is the only way to know what is wrong..USE A SCANNER....and fixed...

I have a Q.. I have a 1986 ford bronco 5.8 v8. I have to pump the gas to get it to start, then when it does start it idles rough as heck and eventually dies, but if I have it idle at 2000 for a couple seconds it idles fine. when I put it into gear and drive it for a couple seconds it just wants to die. so I have to put it into neutral and rev it until it quits how come this is? please help
