Oil in spark plugs

Asked by Bryo Feb 14, 2017 at 12:25 AM about the 1995 Dodge Stratus Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 dodge stratus 2.4L. I had a
rough idle then eventually car stopped
running but would still crank. Timing belt
tensioner/bearing went out. Replaced
tensioner/bearing an still have rough idle.
Checked spark plugs an have oil in them.
Any ideal of cause/problem? Only rough idle
at low rpm sounds fine at high rpm

Worn piston rings or leaking valve guides. How many miles on the motor?

35,325

Oil on the spark plugs will cause the rough idle, now u gotta do a compression test to determine if it's the piston rings or head.
