I have a 1986 Ford Bronco 2 4x4 Eddie Bauer. After I get past 45 mph & press the gas pedal it stalls & can't go any faster (like it's in neutral) & then once it gets back down to about 35mph I can go again, but only back up to 45mph & then the same thing happens. What's the problem?Thx

Hi 7jimmy7, thx. Do I need to take out the trans? & if I do how can I fix the high band slipping? & what parts do I need? Thx

You need to pull the trans. Unless you know how to rebuild an automatic transmission, the guys in the tranny shop will tell you what it needs. Consider a remanufactured transmission. Ford sells theirs for around $1800 with a 3 year/unlimited mile warranty. It's about the same price as having it rebuilt only with a great warranty.
