is there any way to totally disable security system on 740 il

My 1995 740il battery went dead. Replaced it and followed instructions to reset alarm
system. No crank, ano start. All lights working. Am frustrated with the system, as BMW
dealers want huge amount to fix problem. Just want to totally disable this system.

Try Google for the answer on that one. I had the same problem on a Mercedes ML 320. And I got the answer there.
