Easiest cheapest way replace key with chip

I need to get a key replaced on a 2004 mustang 40th
edition that has a chip that doesn't cost $200 is there an
easiest way for me to go around this without having to pay
the 200 and get the chip made

Go to your local Ford Dealer. You need to have two working keys to program additional keys to a Ford Product yourself. It shouldn't cost anywhere near $200 for the key and programming. Just saw transponder keys for $7.99 each. Hope that helps!! Jim
