I had a siimilar problem with mine, except it ran rough when it began getting cold. I checked the fuel pump and it turned out to be the computer, I also have the V6. I would check for codes with a diagnosis tool (OBD I), look for blockages in the furl lines, check the fuel pump, and lastly the computer.
