This is a 20 year old car- that's like 200 human years old- First- it
passed the smog test so why worry? Secondly, a car as old as yours
will have a general degradation of all the parts in a system, so it's likely
that you won't be able to bring your engine up to perfect smog levels
just replacing one or two parts- Finally, I LIKE your idea of a "good
blow out"- this is called an "Italian Tune Up" and a lot of times it woeks
wonders with a car that is only rarely driven- how does it work? Think
like an Italian race car driver at Monza- floor that baby, race it, get it up
on the freeway at night and find out what the top speed is- of course,
don't exceed what you feel is safe- the advantage of the Italian Tune Up
is that it is cheap- and a bit of fun, too
