is it hard on my car to start in in first gear manule transmisson

i dont do it offten but once in awile i will forget to take it out of first and just start the car

You mean without clutch pushed in? Not really going to harm anything except your garage door or whatever you hit when it starts and begins to go. If you mean with clutch in, no harm there either. Or unless your car has an interlock that prevents it from starting unless clutch is pushed, still no harm starting in gear.
