Is there a polarity on auxiliary radiator fan switch? 1984 944

Asked by jondizz944 Oct 04, 2014 at 10:07 PM about the 1984 Porsche 944 STD Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Original owner installed a 70/75c radiator fan switch. I would like to replace it. Does it
matter what wire hooks on what terminal?

The fans rotation will change direction depending onhow you choose to wire it. I'm not sure how your fan motor mounts. If it is behind radiator you want fan to spin the direction that pulls the air through the radiator. If it is in front of the radiator you want it to push the air through the radiator. Make sure replacement switch is rated to handle the amps. Is this an aftermarket switch that the owner installed because the fan stopped working properly? Not familiar with 944 so I hope this helps you out.
