Well, of course, you can get a replacement gauge, there's places online who specialize in old car parts, do a Google search. Or, just calculate your fuel consumption by the number of miles driven. I imagine your odometer still works fine. So, if you get 15 miles per gallon and drive 150 miles you've used 10 gallons. See, you don't have to run out of gas, wasn't that easy! On such an old car as this, I might just skip fixing it and save the money towards a new vehicle.
My fuel gauge to my 2002 buick century keeps going up in down like I will fill up and then it goes down to E and goes back up to fuel what's causing it and how much will it be to fix it
I have a 2002 Buick Century with the same issue. I am not going to pay to get it fixed because I will be getting a different car soon. It's not worth it. What I do is use my credit/debit card and fill my tank completely. That way, I know it is full and I am not running out of gas. I also calculate my trips with the odometer. It was a hassle at first, but I got used to it. You will also start becoming more aware of your usage anyway, so it can be a money saver lol. I never let the gas get low. These 2 things lets me know I'm not running out of gas and I can drive with confidence. Well, I hope this helps.
Oh gosh..listening to ya'll just answers all my questions...I am using my trip odometer to calculate when it's time to fill up. When I park my car, I make sure I'm not on an incline because it sends my fuel gauge into "you're empty." Are any of us eligible for a recall event?

I just put in a "new" sending unit w/ fuel pump and it still does the same thing, fuel to empty fluctuations, I'm starting to think it's the gauge itself, might try to solder in a new diode and see if that fixes the issue
