2003 Ford Focus SE Remote Start

I have a ford focus and when i push the electric start button on my key fob.
The dash lights turn on and the fuel pump kicks in, but the start does not kick
in. When i insert the key into the ignition (Off Position), and i push the remote
start button, the car starts. Any idea why it does that? How can i fix it?

You likely have an ignition switch not fully seating in the off position. This can be caused by the cylinder, tube on the column, or the electrical switch itself. It has to be taken apart to see which of those is not doing its job properly.

i bet 5 bucks it aint no ignition switch. how do we knowbecause the key works its a safty cutoff hood pin, brake switch, neutral/park saftey switch or wiring to these itims
