No. If you don't want the hassle, have a mechanic do it.
You can in the 2001 Lesabre. In the trunk, under the rug toward the top right..there is a largish round plate that can be turned counter clockwise (with hammer and chisel) to open. Then under that you can get access to the top of the fuel tank and pull out the pump assembly. I'm guessing it will be similar in the 89 but not sure.
