Why my buick lesabre idles so high?

My 89 Buick Lesabre idles too high,it started when this guy put a TPS sensor on and didnt adjust it & now I cant find the guy nowhere,also,since that was done it wont shift into overdrive whemI am on the freeway.All this started happening when the TPS sensor was put on without adjusting it,The car runs alirght but always at a high idle,need for someone who has had this issue to help me get this car running right,I have been told alot of things lately but please someone tell me what the problem is if you have went thru something like this.Hope to hear from SOMEONE SOON.l

loosen the two screws that hold the tps and turn it while idling ,you don't have to remove it just a 1/8 turn

is the vaccuum hose still on the vaccuum modulator and routed to the throttle body?? might replace that hose just to be sure.

When I push on gas it sounds okay but as I go faster it seems to reeve up and then when I brake and slow down or stop it goes back to normal
