I have an 88 Buick reatta with a brake problem. If I have to hit my brakes quick sometimes they go almost to the floor then get very hard

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Most of the time my brakes work fine, but if I have to quickly hit my brakes
hard they will go almost to the floor and then they get really hard. The abs
pump system comes on when I turn my key on so I know the abs works. This
is a very intermittent problem but one that is quite dangerous for me...any
suggestions?

I know this is an old post but the problem is seldom the master cylinder. All 1988-1990 Reattas had the Teves ABS brake system and the most likely problem is the accumulator. next the pressure sw, and then the relay........seldom the master cylinder
