and ICM and ECM from pts car.Still not firing

I have. But that was before I determined that there is no spark at the coil. I changed the coil and ICM with known good ones, and still no spark. I have also swapped the ECM and still no spark from cylinders 2 & 5. What other scenario could result in those two cylinders not sparking at the coil? I suppose, the wire harness from coil to ECM? Possibly a crank or camshaft sensor?
ECM should have no control of just 2 cylinders. You have a problem with the coil pack (that year all three were together) or the module. Reatta owners have gone to the later Motolola coil and module where the individual coils can be replaced and seem to have less problems. Plenty of them at pick n pulls.
Doesn't seem right that a known good coil pack and ICM, would malfunction exactly the same way. Logically, it would have to be the wire that is supposed to send the information to the specific coils to fire, is bad.
Now after checking all plugs and wires and driving it a bit, it won't even crank now?????? HELP!!!
Start with the basics......(1) modern cars will not crank if the battery voltage is below a factory determined voltage. (2) Does the battery have a full charge (3) are the battery terminals clean and tight (4) are the battery cables tight on the other end (at the starter and ground) You might also want to look in the area you were working on the power steering and make certain you did not damage or disconnect a connector.
