Is it ok to get oil changed for Range Rover at jiffy lube?

Asked by Kathy Apr 24, 2020 at 04:32 PM about the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My RR Sport with 100K miles is due for an oil change.  I usually take it to a
foreign auto shop or the dealership but with coronavirus, a quicky place like
Jiffy Lube sounds good right now.  I don't even have to get out of my car at
Valvoline.  What do you think?  Risky since it's getting on in years and they're
not Land Rover trained or ok this once?

I believe I'd rather get a root canal than trust MY CAR to Jiffy Lube. My RR Sport (2017) has about 13 bolts that need to be removed to get the skid plate off before you get to the drain bolt. God Bless high school students, but depending on the year of your rig, RR/Jag/Land Rover specs for oil are a masterful collusion with Castrol to nick you $12.78/quart (and my 3.0 L V-6 needs 8 quarts), I think I'd rather go to an Independent foreign car place where the chances are they'll do a better job either dropping the pan or inserting a rod to drain the oil topside. Jiffy Lube is good for your Toyota Corolla of Jeep Cherokee, but there are numerous videos of quickly lube places cheating on oil changes. Not for this boy, who's been changing his own since 67.
