The car should no tick when you turn the key to the on position. You should hear a buzz or whine that the fuel pump is priming, then turn the key to start the car. A strong fuel smell indicates a fuel leak. You'll want to get that looked at ASAP before you have a potential fire.
My vehicle used to tick when I turned key to on but it does not tick no more and fuel has a strong smell what could it be help?
