i have a 1991 dodge dynasty car cranks but wont stay on

i was driving on highway at 70 mph and car just shut off on me and try to start and it wont kick in what is the solution to this problem i had spoken to 1 mechanic and told me it was the fuel pump inside the gas tank to replace labor alone is 200.00 to replace it without even going into the engine side and doing a code check on the car can someone please help me asap thank you.

Fuel pumps die all the time. There is no code. The car just sputters to a stop. The tank has to be dropped to remove and replace the pump.
