Failed Inspection

Asked by Shae280 Apr 03, 2019 at 07:53 PM about the 2013 Honda Civic Coupe LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In January AAA changed my car battery. I just went to have my car inspected
and it failed. I only have 5,000 miles on a 2013 Civic. I only drive locally. I was
told I have to drive on a highway which I never do. When the guy changed the
battery he did clamp something so that nothing on board would be lost,
including the clock. Any suggestions?

I brought the car to the dealers shop and was told it cannot pass because I do not drive enough. He said the monitors do not register. He said that it is probably because I had the battery changed 3 months ago and did not drive enough for the system to work. He told me I have to go drive on the highway which I did not want to do.

You need to complete a drive cycle. Look on the web for "how to complete a drive cycle".
