2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an issue where the console screen when starting vehicle is blank and
not responsive. Cannot use any of the climate controls below the screen as
well. After 3-5 minutes it will finally come back on and work fine. It is VERY
random when it happens. Weird details - it resets all my climate controls (AC
Temp) back to 75 but does not reset any radio stations preprogrammed.
Anyone have a clue on this one?

I have the exact same problem you described it is intermittent and no specific cause. I took my 2015 grand Cherokee limited to the dealer today and there were no codes and they told me if its working they cant fine the problem. the exact same issue you described. I have the same issue on my 2014 Cherokee trailhawk. Most often at short stops - say gas station turn off for a couple minutes - and then when starting back up it will have a blank touchscreen for several minutes before turning back on. Purchased in early 2016, issue started a few months after purchase. Had to replace batter fall of 2016, and issue went away for a while. However it’s started up again later in 2017 and seems to be increasing frequency - perhaps cold weather related? Dealer has been no help. Did you ever find anything out?

My 2014 Grand Cherokee does exactly the same thing— screen goes blank, AC goes off and stays that way for a few minutes. It’s 100 degrees in Texas right now, and this problem is scary— that and Covid. Could it possibly have anything to do with UCONNECT? I haven’t upgraded because I can’t take it in to the dealership right now. Thanks.
