How should I adjust the brakes on my 1930 Model A Ford?

I watched a Youtube video about adjusting brakes on a Model A ford.  They advised to adjusting the brakes so that the front brakes carried 40% and the rear 60% of the load.  Is this 1930s mentality or should the brakes be adjusted like todays vehicles with the front carry the larger load?

Use the pedal depression method measured by inches, rear brakes will (should) lock before the fronts a locked wheel can't steer...no ABS of course or modern hinderments, People had to know how to drive back in the day! or set it up anyway YOU want.
