Kia burning oil

Asked by Anickell Apr 06, 2019 at 02:19 PM about the 2014 Kia Sorento LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Kia Sorento is burning oil. I'm putting 5 qts in
between oil changes. It now has 83,000 miles. This is
ridiculous!
Kia wont do anything even though it's happened to 1000s
of kias.
I'm contacting a lawyer about a class action lawsuit against
Kia. Anyone interested text me

I have that same problem now, my engine is not running right because one of the cylinders went out due to sludge. They wanted me to pay 600 dollars to flush the whole system or they wouldn’t replace my engine. Now they’re not going to replace the engine at all because I don’t have all my past oil change invoices.

I'm the 2nd owner of my 2012 Sorento. I love the car and had no plans of selling it. At 101,000 miles it started sucking oil. The dealer wont acknowledge that there's a problem with these engines. So, no warranty replacement for me. Where do I go from here?

So what did you all do? I have a 2017 that just started doing this and they are doing the "oil consumption test". Basically they changed the oil (which was 800 miles early and missing 1 1/2 qts already) and told me to drive it 3000 miles and not to add any oil and bring it back. It will blow up before 3000 miles as it's using quite a bit. We asked if it blew would they replace it, was told no, they are just performing the test......so I am curious what you all did from a year ago????
