2014 transmission revving

Asked by GuruBWMPB Dec 17, 2018 at 09:38 AM about the 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Subaru Forrester doesn't seem to be shifting when driving at full
speed. It is an automatic. The RPMs don't appear to be revving up but it just
sounds like it's winding.

Not sure what your problem is if you have one. You have a CVT, not an automatic. Have it checked out by someone that knows CVT's.

I guess what I should have said is it's not a manual transmission. Prior to this issue starting when I would get up to speed it would "shift" into another gear but that is not happening right now. I have an appointment with the dealership. After researching it online I believe it is something wrong with the CVT because it doesn't seem to be shifting as it should.
