my a/c cuts out when going uphill & back on on the level

is it a steep hill as this could be by design to help your engine have the horsepower to climb it. Is it always uphill or is it just the compressor normally cycling on and off. Or are you referring to the inboard fan motor turning off, if this is the case you may have a loose wire or possibly a bad fan switch.

No, it's any hill, steep or otherwise. I've been told that I may need a vacuum reservoir with check valve to remedy the problem. Any thoughts on that suggestion?
