what is the optimal running temp for a 2012 chevy captiva sport

just replaced my radiator and thermostat and she is running aroung 213
degrees and if i let it sit and warm up she has gone to 230

Sounds like you have an air pocket, cooling system would need to be bled out from air pockets, or you have a bad thermostat. The thermostats are set for 195 deg. so the vehicle should run at that and to around 200 deg.

I just got a 2012 Chevrolet captivate sport I was sitting with the car running and I seen how the temperature number was going pass 220 can u please tell me what you think????

TFYQ, I would change out the thermostat and make sure the cooling system is purged from air after replacing. Also water pumps are not what they use to be, possible water pump, eroded impeller on the water pump. Also the fans must work.
